Pain Management

New website launched to help people living with persistent pain in Kirklees.

A new online resource has been launched in Kirklees to help people discover ways to lead a better quality of life, despite living with persistent pain.

The new website – www.kirkleespersistentpain.com – has been designed so that patients can find information for themselves.

With an estimated one in three people in the district living with pain, the website provides a one-stop shop for support and advice to help them manage their pain and health better and make best use of local services and health resources.

The website provides easy to understand explanations, tips, and advice – as well as downloadable information leaflets and videos. It will help people experiencing pain learn more about how to manage their pain and what they can do to prevent further problems.

The innovative one-stop online resource also includes information provided by people who successfully manage their pain.

The website has links to local services including Health Trainers, Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT), the Expert Patients Programme and the Physical Activity Leisure Scheme (PALS).

It contains information and guidance on a range of subjects including getting fitter and healthier, managing moods, relaxation techniques and setting realistic goals.
